The wedding ceremony is one of the most important parts of your day and so you don't want to take any chances on it, do you? Nerja Bride can assist with catholic Church weddings for those couples who are eligible, but in many cases, you will be requiring the services of a wedding celebrant to officiate your ceremony. Celebrant-led ceremonies are symbolic, they are not legally binding and they can be held at practically any venue on the coast.

When Planning your destination wedding in Spain there are often questions you may want to ask about the ceremony. In this short guide we study your options based on the most frequently asked questions. Of course, we are here to help through the entire process of your wedding in Spain, so why not consider our wedding planning services too?
Question: Can I legally marry in Spain?
Answer: It's not always an easy question to answer and largely depends on your individual situation, but I will try to make it as simple as possible. In most cases the requirements and paperwork to get legally married in Spain are just too complex for non-residents and for this reason, most choose to have a symbolic ceremony at their venue of choice and do the legal part in a registry office in thier home country. If you are both residents in Spain or are baptised Catholic, then the process of marriage in Spain is considerably easier. Catholics have the option to marry in one of Spain's stunning catholic churches, which would be officially recognised as a legal marriage internationally. Church weddings are a fairly easy process and one that we can help you with. Those who carry Spanish residency can marry at many town halls, or through a notory in Spain. Those without Spanish residency can technically still marry legally in Spain, but the paperwork (all in Spanish) would not be for the faint-hearted! We would honestly not recommend taking this course!
